One of the things I had to learn as a believer is that believing in Christ does not prevent from struggling with temptation and sin. Once upon time I thought that those battles would become easy since I now have the Holy ghost within me. Oh how wrong I was! Struggles to remain on the straight and narrow path are fought in my day to day life. I'd like to believe it gets easier with time but I'm lead to believe otherwise. Sin and the old nature are very crafty. Right when I tend to think I'm getting a handle on things I get knocked down.
A friend of mine spoke to me through one of his sermons at a youth event. He was speaking about fighting sin in his life. Those sins that are so difficult to have consistent victory over. He went to speak to his coach about these sins, telling him he really just didn't know what to do anymore. "This sin is just too difficult to overcome. I beat it and cut it off and still I fall to it." I can relate to such stories. It's what was said next that really struck a chord with me and I hope I will never forget it. His coach told him: "Well, you have a choice to make. Either you let this sin dominate you the rest of your life or... you praise God that you can repent, turn to Christ and taste His grace once again." Personally I choose to taste the Lord's grace once again. Be merciful to me Father.

"Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin. There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Romans: 7:24 - 8:1
