Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their efforts. For if either falls, his companion can lift him up; but pity the one who falls without another to lift him up.
One of our friends is in fierce battles with temptation, and been losing. The devastating effect of falling into sin for a period of time can paralyses us into not acting in doing what we know we should do. This friend of ours decided not to go to prayer meeting or church that day because he was too overwhelmed with guilt. So we decided as a group that we would end prayer meeting early and go see him.
It was amazing and wonderful to come to a brothers aid when he was down. Instead of just praying that he would come to the prayer meeting we decided to bring the prayer meeting to him. We decided not to just go there and scold him but to confess our sins as well in front of him. To encourage him that he is not alone. I need my brothers in Christ. Christ gives us these friends to help us on our way. To help each other to love one another and put scripture into practice. Praise God for the opportunities He gives us to put scripture into practice. If we say we love God, we need to love our brother as well. And when our brother is down we run to pick him up. Never leave a man behind.
He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commands.”
“When we are in trial and trouble, we believe the devil when he says God will forsake us. The devil, who has been a liar from the beginning, we credit—but if our God promises anything, we say, ‘Surely this is too good to be true.’” - C.H.Spurgeon
